That’s really better than a lot of its counterparts.

Isn’t that amazing?

Most machines with power are run by gas. 

You know it’s powerful when it can throw the snow 50 feet away. Then, you can choose which way the snow should be thrown as the chute can be moved within 200 degrees. 

In essence

This is the perfect machine for really large areas. 

Imagine throwing the snow that far–you should have a pretty large area or you will be dumping snow in your neighbor’s.

No noise and no gas. No fumes as well.

The handle. If you are clearing inches of snow, then you are obviously in the middle of winter. 

Now, it’s really wonderful if you could have some heat while doing the work. 

So

You could bundle up and just not worry about pushing or pulling this snow blower. 

It has heated handle grips so that you will be comfortable the entire time you are working outside. 

There is also a loop handle for optimum control. 

Now, that’s not all!

The machine also comes with LED headlights. 

During winter, daytime is shorter and nighttime is longer. This machine can help you do your work even when it’s dark outside. 

Even better:

The machine has power steering so your work is just like a walk in the park. 

Let’s get technical:

The machine runs on 6.3 horsepower with a gross torque of 9.5 pounds per foot. 

It has a clearing width of 24 inches. 

Also

It has adjustable skid shoes. This means that the machine can work well even with whatever terrain you have in your area.

I don’t have a lot of bad things to say about the Husqvarna ST224P. Although, there is an issue with the cable sheath. 

It’s not very durable. It’s covered by the warranty, though. 

Related to that:

The plastic control panel is just as flimsy. It could break anytime if not handled properly.

All in all

This is a great product that works well with any kind of snow–powdery snow, wet snow or ice. That’s a very important feature!

However, some parts of this product are not very durable. You just need to be more careful with it so that it will last for years. 

This is really comfortable to use, though.

You know what, the first time I saw this piece of outdoor power equipment, I was really attracted. It’s bright and beautiful. 

But beauty is not everything. Good thing the Poulan Pro PR241 works quite well, too. 

Let’s start

The machine has some ribbon augers that will break down snow and ice as the first step of this two-stage machine. 

The snow and ice will then be propelled back to the impeller blades, which are responsible for shooting out the snow a few feet away. 

Here’s something you should know

This machine is perfect for really harsh conditions. The exterior is durable and so is the interior of this equipment.

It can even clear 23 inches of snow. 

You read that right!

Almost two feet of snow–amazing, right?

When you look at the machine, you already know how powerful it is. 

Let’s check out another feature:

The tires. 

The machine comes with a pair of heavy-duty wheels at 13 inches in diameter. 

Finally

The Poulan Pro has a console mounted chute. 

The irony

When it’s really cold, you might have trouble with the manual start. It’s ironic because this machine is supposed to be made for the harsh and extremely cold weather with heavy snow. 

Good thing it has an electric start, too. 

Another beef:

The reverse is quite slow. It would be very helpful if the reverse would be faster so that you can also finish your work quicker. 

Look

If you are usually faced with really thick snow, then this is a really good product for you. It’s expertise is on mountains of snow, hence, the ability to clear even a 23-inch thick snow.

The not-so good things about this machine aren’t really deal-breakers.

This is quite an impressive machinery with a 254cc engine. 

It is versatile with its six forward speed and two reverse gears. 

Why is that important?

This provides versatility and convenience.

Different speeds work on different types and depth of snow. 

Although

The product doesn’t really say how much clearing depth the machine has. Based on experience, though, the Ariens snow blower can go through a maximum 20 inches of snow. 

As for the clearing width, it’s around 24 inches. 

It’s still good enough for large areas

You would definitely be impressed by its throwing ability. 

On record, this machine will throw snow 30 feet away. But in reality, it is actually farther than that. 

Besides

It’s not that great to throw snow too far as it might reach the neighbor’s space. 

The 14-inch auger is one reason this machine is very powerful. Now that would work really well in wet snow and even on really icy ones.

On to another great thing:

It has a great set of tires that have great grip so that it could easily move in your area no matter what kind of terrain you have. 

This is a large machine, so you would definitely need those to allow you to move around with ease. 

I have to say though:

I have experienced a number of failed starts. That’s really quite irritating.

But I’m talking about the electric start. Good thing you have the manual start to counter that problem.

And oh

It’s also quite heavy

To end this:

I can say with certainty that this is a really good product especially when you keep experiencing wet and icy snow. 

Although, this equipment is really quite heavy.

How’s that good?

It’s actually more than good, it’s quite amazing!

When you have large tires, you know that the machine is made for various terrains. 

Crucial

If you live in a large area and the ground is pretty uneven, you won’t always have money to spend for the landscape. 

At least, you can get a machine that could help you out. The tires are a big reason for that. 

Another reason for that:

The adjustable skid shoes. No matter the surface conditions, the ST224 can really be your mate. 

It’s really high performing

It has a working width of 24 inches, which is very helpful when clearing large areas. 

It also has a great throwing capacity.

More features:

Also

The weight of this thing isn’t too bad. It’s under 200 pounds. 

It’s not the lightest two-stage snow blower, but it certainly is not among the heaviest ones.

The product is great for all kinds of surface and all kinds of snow. 

Let’s elaborate

If you have a powdery snow all winter long, then you probably don’t need to spend around $1,000 for a two-stage snow blower. 

However, if you have an unpredictable snow condition, this machine will be great for you. It works well on any kind of snow: powdery (obviously), wet and ice. 

Now

If you have an unpaved ground, you have to be more careful because the snow blower might process some rocks. 

This could be detrimental to your impeller. 

The worst part is that there is no instruction on how to fix it. 

Here’s another issue:

The blower control console is made of plastic. It’s a flimsy material. 

You have to remember that it’s going to battle really tricky conditions so it might get damaged real easily. 

In my honest opinion:

This is a good enough machine. As long as you are more careful with it, then you won’t have a problem. 

It’s lighter than a lot of two-stage snow blowers and it’s also on the cheap side.

It has a clearing width of 24 inches and clearing intake of 20 inches. 

Still good

It also has an electric start for a smoother start of a clearing task. 

The S1024 features a friction disc transmission, which means it provides an efficient mechanism for clearing inches of snow. 

Similarly

This machine also provides the free-hand-control system so you can drive this thing with one hand. 

Your free hand can do other things related to working the machinery. 

The body

This is also a really durable machine. It has a steel frame that was built to last years no matter how much work it has done. 

As for the gearbox, it is made of aluminum meant to last for a very long time. 

You know what?

Whatever kind of snow you have in your area, you can get rid of it using the 1024.

So what don’t I like about this machine?

While it has similar features as the Elite Briggs & Stratton, there is quite a difference when it comes to the clearing width. 

However, the difference in price is not that much.
