Asking how heavy a trampoline is is a bit like asking how long a piece of string is.
The weight of a trampoline will be influenced by a huge number of factors, most notably its size, its shape and the quality of its build.
Nevertheless you might want a rough idea of how much a trampoline weighs before you buy it.
So that is what we are here to discuss today.
Without further ado, let’s dive in.
How Heavy Is A Trampoline?
The weight of a trampoline will vary enormously. The smallest trampolines can weigh little over 10 lbs, whilst, at the other end of the spectrum, some can be in excess of 500 lbs! The weight of a trampoline is greatly influenced by its size, shape and build quality.
As alluded to in the introduction, there isn’t a set weight for trampolines of a certain size.
In fact, it varies quite broadly.
So I thought the best way to give you an idea of how much you might feasibly expect a trampoline to weigh is by looking at some of the most popular brands, and how much some of their trampolines weigh.
So I present to you the table below:

What Affects How Much a Trampoline Weighs?
There is one very obvious factor that affects how much a trampoline weighs, its size!
Naturally the bigger a trampoline is the more it will weigh (imagine how much the trampoline in the video above weighs!).
Also you might notice that the four heaviest trampolines in the list above are all rectangular in shape.
Rectangular (and sometimes square) trampolines often weigh more because it takes more metal to construct their frames when compared to circular or oval trampolines.
The material used to construct the trampoline will also play a part in its weight.
Most trampolines are made of galvanized steel, which retains a good balance of being durable, but also reasonably lightweight.
Some may be made of steel which is more durable, but much heavier and others may be made of aluminum, which is much lighter by not as durable.
Then there is the jumping mat. Most mats are made of polypropylene, but you will find quality mats usually weigh slightly more as they are more durable and UV resistant.
Other items that affect the weight of a trampoline are the springs, spring pad and enclosure net.
Also don’t forget every trampoline has a limit on the weight it can hold when it is being used.
Final Thoughts
As you can see trampolines can weigh anything from just over 10 lbs to well in excess of 500 lbs.
However, the vast majority of trampolines weigh somewhere between 100 lbs and 250 lbs.
Size, shape and materials used all play a part in how much a trampoline weighs.
Some trampolines may be much more expensive, but usually they will weigh more which is a sign of better build quality, and they will last longer.
First of all work out what size trampoline you can fit into your yard, then do your research and find out that strikes the right balance between cost, quality and weight for you.
