About the Snow Joe SJ615E Snow Blower

Imagine clearing snow at a speed of 440 pounds of snow moved per minute.

Isn’t that amazing?

It truly is!

That can be achieved with the Snow Joe SJ615E Snow Blower through its various features:

  • 15-inch clearing width
  • 8-inch clearing depth

That clearly shows

You don’t have to spend so much time on the yard because you will be done in no time.

Of course, this is best for small to medium yards.

Let’s talk about it’s power:

The Snow Joe SJ615E is electric-powered and runs on a motor with 11 amperes.

Complement that with a two-blade plastic auger that is resistant to cold (as it should!) and abrasion.

Further

That auger is capable of clearing 15 inches of snow, width-wise. As to the height, an eight-inch snow is not a problem at all!

Now, where does all the snow being cleared go? It will be thrown 20 feet away!

Related to that:

The chute is adjustable by 180 degrees, so you can choose various ways where you want to throw the snow.

Let’s get to know this snow blower more, especially its good parts:

The Good

One of the best things about this snow blower is that it is light. At just over 21 pounds, you can carry this thing one-handed.

Not that you have to, just saying.

What’s great about that

Women and senior citizens will have no problem with using this snow blower.

This is not to disparage women because they can obviously do what men do (sometimes even better!), but there is always that masculine advantage when it comes to strength.

But that strength disadvantage won’t come to play in this product because of its lightness.

What about the seniors?

A back problem is a common issue among senior citizens. But this lightweight snow blower is a good tool for seniors.

Clearing snow is also a good exercise for the elderly.

This way

They don’t have to pay someone to clear the snow in their yard because the SJ615E is a fine machine.

Another great thing about light products is that you can use them on decks.

Not only that

This snow blower has a pair of all-terrain wheels. They are compact, too.

The features of this Snow Joe just keeps getting better.

What else are there?

We’ve earlier mentioned that it could move 440 pounds of snow per minute. That’s like a whole grizzly bear every minute.

That’s also because in just one clearing push, you could clear a width of 15 inches and a depth of eight inches.

Here’s a bit of a fun fact

This thing actually works great at more than eight inches of snow, which means, Snow Joe has been quite humble about mentioning its features.

To be clear, I’m talking about light and dry snow.

In essence

You can do a lot of work in a short period of time.

With a small or medium-sized yard that includes driveway and walkway, you can clear a lot of snow in half an hour or less.

In fact

That’s enough time to clear both the driveway and pathway.

For really quick work, just because you really need the driveway to drive out, then this is the snow blower for you.

It’s very light so it’s easy to get it from the storage area and return it afterwards. It also does a speedy job so you’ll be set in no time.

As mentioned

This is an electric product. That only means that you wouldn’t need gas to make the product work.

Even better, no need for tuneups or to change the oil.

You know what else?

It is ETL approved.

This is a certification program that entails the product has been tested and certified to be safe for use. It means that the equipment has followed national safety standards.

Plus

It also has an ergonomic grip that makes it easier for people to push and pull when needed. You won’t have to worry about hurting your hands.

That also means that you can store it properly in your storage area, wherever that is.

Finally

It’s Snow Joe!

The company has been making outdoor power equipment for years. It has special tools for the winter called Snow Joe, and another set of outdoor power equipment for the summer called Sun Joe.

The brand certainly cares about making your yard clean and attractive all year round!

And with all that features, you’d be glad to know that the Snow Joe SJ615E is really affordable.

The Not So Good

Everybody knows that nothing is perfect in this world. The Snow Joe is really a great example.

Let’s start with the obvious

It’s lightweight and small.

So don’t try to force this on eight inches of wet snow. I know it says that it is supposed to work on snow with a maximum for eight inches, but that presupposes that we are dealing with powdery snow.

On hard snow

It’s quite terrible.

That’s also because of the plastic parts. They are kind of flimsy.

Of course

For the price of this snow machine, it’s kind of hard to expect it to have a sturdy exterior and other parts.

Here’s a shocking detail

Literally shocking!

There is a static buildup from use, so you will experience shock every now and then while using it. This happens when you are clearing very dry snow.

Just expect a little bit of that.

In addition

This may not be an ideal product for people who are six feet tall and taller. The handle is kinda short for really tall individuals.

That’s all the not-so good things about this snow machine.

Great for women and seniors

We live in a different world now. What man can do, women can do, too. Sometimes they do it even better! That’s why it’s kind of refreshing that there are tools that seem to have been made for women and even senior citizens.

The Snow Joe SJ615E is a perfect example of such a product. It’s lightweight and small--really perfect for women and the eldery. The machine can also move or blow 440 pounds of snow through its 15-inch width capability.

The machine can also work on eight inches of snow. You can even use it on 10 inches of snow as long as they are fresh and powdery.

FAQs

Does this come with an electrical cord?
No, it doesn’t. You have to buy your own. Make sure you buy an outdoor electric cord with a minimum extension gauge of 12 for a 100-foot cord, and 14 for 25- and 50-foot cord.

Can I use this in an area with gravel?
Snow blowers, in general, really shouldn’t be used in gravel because it may take up some pebbles and shoot it out. In some cases, it will also damage the blades. Good thing that the SJ615E is really light so you can just maneuver it in a way that it won’t pick up pebbles and other non-snow items.

Is there a blade replacement?
You don’t really need to. The blade is pretty sturdy.
