Snow Foaming – The Facts
Know about snow foaming?
>> Jump to my reviews <<
How Does Snow Foaming Work?
Snow foaming is a simple way to wash your vehicle or yard areas. A foam cannon is used to cover the target in foam and then rinsed off with water giving you a shiny, as good as new car/deck.
It is that simple.
What Do You Need To Look For?
The truth is:
You don’t need to worry too much about GPM. If your prime concern is for snow foaming you will want to get an electric pressure washer and most electric pressure washers are fairly close when it comes to spec.
Here’s the rub though:
You do need to get a decent cannon which you can attach to your pressure washer to produce the snow foam. Look for one that produces thick foam and consistent pressure. Also make sure it attaches to your pressure washer!
And here is a sneaky tip.
If you can look for quick connect tips, this means you can easily attach and remove the foam cannon making the job much easier for you.

The Best Pressure Washer For Snow Foam
#1 Stanley SHP2150
BEST FOR…
Those looking for a pressure washer with a great foam cannon.
Product Spec
- 2150 PSI
- 1.4 GPM
- Power Cord Length – 35 feet
- Hose Length – 25 feet
- Weight – 26lbs
- Two Year Warranty
- PRICE GUIDE: $$$
If you are looking for a quality pressure washer that comes with a great soap foam cannon you can’t go far wrong with the Stanley SHP2150.
But before we get to that:
This produces 2,150 PSI at 1.4 GPM. It comes with four nozzles – 0°, 15°, 25° & 40° and the cord is 35 feet long and the hose 25 feet long.
It weighs 26 lbs and comes with a two year warranty.
This is huge:
It comes with a fantastic foam cannon, which stores easily on board. It produces A LOT of thick foam very quickly and will really make it easy to give your cars, yard, decking, etc, etc a clean. A quick rinse after and they will look as good as new.
It also has probably the highest pressure rating of any comparable unit, so you can feel confident it will work and work well.
Looking beyond that:
- It is really neatly made – everything folds up and stores very compactly in a small space on the unit and it has a tiny footprint.
- The wand with four attachments if top notch, you can use it for a whole host of jobs and the quick release makes it ultra easy to change attachments.
- A little thing but the handle is ergonomically wonderful – it is so comfortable to hold and you don’t feel any fatigue.
- All the connection points are top quality – professional grade and brass. It is built to last.
Of course there are a couple of downsides:
This has an annoyingly large plug! If you are using this outside mainly, and have electrical points in weatherproof boxes it makes it difficult to plugin in. Sometimes it does lag between pulling the trigger and getting full water pressure too.
But overall:
This is as good as you get if you are looking for something with a foam cannon included. It gives you a lot of pressure and is pretty small and easy to maneuver to boot.
MY RATING: 91%
Pros
- Great foam cannon included
- Good amount of pressure
- Neatly made in terms of storage
- Handle is really well made
Cons
- Large plug
- Sometimes a lag before pressure kicks in

Fasmov Car Wash Pressure Washer Jet Wash
As I said the foam cannon that comes with this is fantastic, but if you do fancy an alternative the Fasmov is well worth a look.
Why?
Quite simply it produces an INSANE amount of soap foam and it does it very fast. You can cover your car in about 20 seconds.
The bottle is nice – you can adjust the fluid amount used and the spray angle can be altered as well.
And in addition to that:
It is ultra cheap but doesn’t feel like that as the design and fittings seem durable. Maybe worth purchasing as a backup in case your Stanley Foam Cannon breaks!
#2 Greenworks GPW1501
BEST FOR…
Those looking for something light.
Product Spec
- 1500 PSI
- 1.2 GPM
- Power Cord Length – 35 feet
- Hose Length – 25 feet
- Weight – 19lbs
- One Year Warranty
- PRICE GUIDE: $
The Greenworks 1500 PSI is what you might call small but perfectly formed! And because of that you can easily maneuver it for snow foaming.
So let’s get this show on the road.
It comes with an adjustable wand a 25º nozzle and a 40º nozzle.
It has a 13 amp motor with 1500 PSI and a 1.2 GPM flow rate. It’s power cord is 35 feet long and hose is 25 feet long. It weighs 19 lbs and has a one year warranty.
On the face of it:
This looks pretty unspectacular and I suppose in many ways it is. It does what it needs to do very well and with the minimum of fuss.
However where it excels is its size – it is very small, so easy to move around and store – making it easier for you to use around your yard and cleaning your car, etc.
Thankfully the budget price hasn’t meant a compromise on the build quality which seems sturdy with a strong cord and plug
There are a few other things I like:
- The spray gun and two nozzles do a good job for most domestic tasks
- You can use this horizontally or vertically – which makes it more stable
- The hose is well made and definitely seems like it will last
- It is a fantastic price
But remember:
Beware of the green trigger and black handle, it is easy to pinch your skin in between them whilst you use this. Upon starting this up it takes a minute or two for the pressure to stabilise.
News flash:
This is pretty hard to beat for the price – ultra maneuverable and whilst it might not stand up to more heavy duty jobs it is great for general yard tasks, especially for snow foam, and won’t let you down.
MY RATING: 90%
Pros
- Small and so easy to move
- Good build quality for the price
- Can use it horizontally or vertically
- Really well priced
Cons
- Beware getting your skin caught
- Pressure takes a minute or two to stabilise

Greenworks High Pressure Soap Applicator 51362
It stands to reason to select a Greenworks unit when choosing my pairing for the GPW1501. Obviously this is built for and compatible with any Greenworks Pressure Washer, but you would be forgiven for thinking it doesn’t work so well considering the budget price.
You are wrong!
This is designed for lower GPM models and works perfectly. It certainly has a lot more pressure than the soap nozzle that comes with the GPW1501 and you get a nice foamy residue.
It is also adjustable, so you can chose the level of foam to water and is durable and easy to attach.
The bottom line:
This exceeds expectations. You can have your deck or car covered in a thick layer of foam within minutes and the dial control makes it easy to get the right amount of soap into your spray.
Oh and it is pretty cheap!
#3 AR Blue Clean AR390SS
BEST FOR…
Those wanting a long hose
Product Spec
- 2000 PSI
- 1.4 GPM
- Power Cord Length – 35 feet
- Hose Length – 30 feet
- Weight – 35.5lbs
- One Year Warranty
- PRICE GUIDE: $$
If you are looking for a good pressure washer for snow foam then the AR Blue Clean AR390SS is definitely worth considering thanks in no small part to its fantastic hose.
So let’s get started:
The 14 amp motor and tri-axial pressure washer pump give you 2,000 PSI at 1.4 GPM.
It has a 48 fl oz detergent tank, a 35 foot power cord and weighs 36.4lbs. It comes with a one year warranty. It has four quick connect nozzles – 0º, 25º, a rotary/turbo nozzle and a low pressure soap nozzle.
Sounds pretty standard right? Wrong!
This has a 30 foot hose, whereas nearly every other pressure washer in this price range are 20 to 25 foot. It makes it so much easier to foam down your deck or reach the back of your car with the extra length.
Not only that it also maintains the high pressure really well too and is pretty easy to unravel and has a storage rack too.
Leaving aside the hose there is also:
- The lance is top quality – it feels strong and has zero wobble
- The four nozzles you get with this are the epitome of quick connect! You literally snap it in and you can easily and confidently do it with one hand. You won’t believe how easy they are to change.
- So sweet additional touches like a foot support to steady it when you are pulling out the hose and spots on the rear to store the wand and accessories.
- It is lightweight and uses very little water to actually clean.
It isn’t perfect.
It has a very large plug, thanks mainly to the built in breaker. Now this is a great safety feature but it makes the plug so large it can be difficult to plug it in in tight spaces. There are a few areas made of plastic that don’t feel totally durable – so I do question whether a few years down the line it will still be fully intact.
In a nutshell:
This is a great choice if you are looking to foam down your car or deck because of the wonderful long hose and fantastic quick connect tips. Good pressure, well balanced and easy to move – it is a winner!
MY RATING: 89%
Pros
- Great long hose
- Top quality lance
- Nozzles are truly quick connect!
- Nice additional touches
Cons
- Large plug is a pain
- Questionable plastic build in a couple of spots

Chemical Guys EQP_312 TORQ Professional Foam Cannon
This combo is more expensive than many foam cannon/foam cleanser duos but with good reason – the almost space age design and quality!
Let me explain:
The TORQ Foam Cannon uses an innovative Threadlock System – the first foam cannon in the industry to do so.
Where as other foam cannons have brass threads which eventually tear up soap bottles the TORQ design actually protects the soap bottles from wear and tear and locks in an airtight seal between body and canister. It works too!
The cannon is really well made – corrosion resistant components and high quality plastic. It is pretty much perfect for any pressure washer and due to the additives in the soap foam and the design of the cannon it utilizes what Chemical Guys call ‘touch free’ washing
To put it bluntly:
With a large (32 fl oz) tank, well designed nozzle and wonderful foam cannon this makes snow foaming your deck or car a joy!
#4 SunJoe SPX3000
BEST FOR…
Those wanting a dual detergent tank.
Product Spec
- 2030 PSI
- 1.76 GPM
- Power Cord Length – 35 feet
- Hose Length – 20 feet
- Weight – 31lbs
- Two Year Warranty
- PRICE GUIDE: $$
It is evident pretty quickly why the Sun Joe SPX 3000 is the most popular electric pressure washer on the market – it has a lot going for it!
Jumping straight in:
It comes with five spray tips – including a soap tip, which is pretty good (the others are 0º, 15º, 25º and 40º). You get 2030 PSI of pressure and the flow rate is 1.76 GPM.
It has a 20 foot hose and a 35 foot power cord and weighs 31lbs.
But you know what I really like about this?
The dual detergent tank. This will be a big bonus when you are using this for snow foam as it allows you to vary the soap you are using depending upon the severity of the dirt you are trying to clear.
Sun Joe have also made it very easy to change between the dual tanks – a literal flip of a switch. For some reason on its successor – the SPX3001 – Sun Joe have switched back to a single tank, which is inferior in my opinion. So this is your best bet for snow foaming.
It doesn’t stop there:
- The SPX 3000 is solidly and ergonomically well built. The spray gun is top notch and has a nice metal barrel, the spray nozzles are easy to attach and remove an it has a sleek pull down collar.
- It is almost silent
- It is pretty light and portable – aided by some chunky rear wheels which stabilise it well.
- It has a enough power to cut through any domestic job.
But note:
There is no hose reel – so you end up dealing with the water hose, the wand cord and the power cord at once which can be problematic. And the wand brackets are a little feeble.
To cut a long story short:
A fantastic machine at a great price – it does any job well and is a great option for snow foaming.
MY RATING: 88%
Pros
- Love the dual detergent tanks
- Easy to move around
- Power enough for all domestic jobs
- Solidly built
Cons
- Lack of hose reel
- Wand bracket is flimsy

Twinkle Star 3000 PSI High-Pressure Washer Gun
Made of polyamide and with quality brass connectors this is perfect for the Sun SPX 3000.
Why?
It fits easily and with a combination of a quality foam lance and sturdy bottle it evenly distributes the foam over a large surface.
It has an adjustable spray nozzle so you can vary the pattern from pencil tip to fan jet and it is easy to get a good grip on the bottle.
It is easy to attach and detach to your Sun Joe and easy to carry and store.
To put it bluntly
This is great for the price and puts some of the higher price units to shame.
#5 Karcher K2 Plus
BEST FOR…
Those wanting something light and easy to maneuver.
Product Spec
- 1600 PSI
- 1.25 GPM
- Power Cord Length – 35 feet
- Hose Length – 25 feet
- Weight – 16lbs
- Two Year Warranty
- PRICE GUIDE: $
The long and short of it is, if weight is a prime consideration for you when it comes to a pressure washer then you can’t go far wrong with the Karcher K2 Plus.
Let’s dig a little deeper:
You get a 1600 PSI and a 1.25 GPM flow rate. With its 13 amp motor, 35 foot power cord and 25 foot hose it weighs in at 16 lbs. It has a two year warranty.
This is a big deal:
It is so light! This means when it comes to you snow foaming your deck/patio/car it is very easy to maneuver.
It doesn’t take up much space either so you can store it away without a problem. It also has a really nice N-COR pump that is well made and robust.
And you know what else?
You get two wands with this – the Vario Spray Wand and the Dirtbuster Spray. This is really good value for money.
The Dirtbuster Spray in particular is pretty handy – it is great for stubborn stains and according to Karcher generates 50% more pressure and up to 30 times the pressure of a garden hose.
The fact of the matter is there is more to like:
- The handle is strong and built to last and makes this easy to move around
- Has a nice storage hook that makes storing the cord easy
- Good auto shut off for the motor. Enhances the life of the pump by shutting off when the water nozzle is off.
- Really good price!
A word of caution:
It doesn’t have a trigger lock, which would be a nice addition and the standard hose connection has a tendency to leak very slightly.
In short:
Great value, easy to move around and store, good power for most routine jobs, it will leave your car, deck, patio, walkways, etc, etc looking lovely and clean.
MY RATING: 88%
Pros
- Very mobile
- Small footprint
- Two great wands
- Fantastic price
Cons
- No trigger lock
- Hose connection could be better
